Started reading ifish when I moved to Oregon 2 years ago to learn how to fish salmon & steelhead. Thanks for the pointers as I landed my second chinook yesterday and 1st ever on my own boat around 6:30am near PDX. Went at it again this AM 6-8am and no action.

Trolling downhill in 25’ of water with a pink spinner and hoochie.

Fished 2 rods from 6:30 to 9:30am this morning between I205 and I5. Threw everything in the box at em and didn’t touch one. Marked a few but no biters. Tough to catch fish when you need to remove weeds from your line every 5 minutes. Weeds improved a little after the tide change but pretty bad most of the day.

2/2 @ Davis this AM. Seahawk cut plug and hot tamale super bait. Both trolling downhill. Saw two other fish caught.

9/3 - Davis Bar - 5pm to 7:30pm

2/3. All 3 in the last hour. She just destroyed them tonight. My rod was the miss. And her motto is “let em eat.” She doesn’t even move.

Starting to have some strong beliefs about tiny presentations. But then again, I am a complete moron.

0/0 at DB tonight from 6pm fo 8pm. 5 or so other boats out there and didn’t see any fish brought up. Marked plenty but I guess they were more interested in riding that incoming tide upriver than eating a stuffer or spinner.

0 for 1 this evening at Davis from 5:30 to 7:30. Solid takedown on a pink cascade soft spinner and hoochie but was gone by the time I got the rod out of the holder.

This was my last day for chinook as I’m away this weekend. I feel pretty good about my first season with a boat with 5 keepers on 15 or so trips. I’ve never targeted coho specifically outside of bank fishing the Sandy. Same idea as chinoook but higher in the water column? I hate to think this was my last day on the water until springers.
