Thereās an old (really old) saying about Jagās. āYou donāt buy a Jag because itās a nice car.ā This is from back in the day when the XJ-S had style.
This is why you buy a jaguar. Jaguar's XK120 held the production car speed record of 175 or so in the early 50's. A stock XK120 Hard Top averaged over 100 mph for 7 days straight 24/7, also in the early 50's. It was a dominant sports car and endurance racing force in those days and into the 60's. Like a lot of the distinctive old brands, just competing for the suv market now. Time to let it go brothers, I think they just did. That ad looks like a bronx salute from the marketing dept on their way out the door. lol

My mom had a S type 4.2 R, which had the 400hp motor. That car was a blast to drive. Talk about a āsleeperā. She used to have people wanting to race her all the time.
The only reason she got rid of it, is because she said it was āmore power than she neededā. Traded it in on a Toyota Camry hybrid. šš»

Maybe a bit āoffā topic but. I got to go to The Dalles and back yesterday in a $130 thousand dollar BMW with over 700 twin turbo HP. Let me tell you boys and girls that was a very fine ride. It had ALL the bells and whistles.Did I mention fast? Holy crap. š²
