He'll need a half face respirator with particulate filter for going down the chimney.

As well as:

Full body harness with life line and a retrieval tripod for vertical entry.

Confined space attendant with a four gas monitor.

Nomex coveralls in case there is a fire in the fireplace and supplied breathing air with external monitor.

Proper scafold will have to be built to land the sled on and supply proper footing to move from the sled to the chimney.

Oh, this could be fun.....

And......

He's got no safety restraint across the side of the sleigh
I wonder which rein deer is certified as a confined space attendant
He'll also need medical surveillance for coal tar pitch (PAHs).

What about the OSHA requirement for working over water??? I donít see any PF for Santa or any of the deer.

Chimneys??? Is he certified for confined spaces?

That Santa. That's it he's off the nice list.

Coal tar build up? Oh, oh. NORM contamination for sure.

This calls for a mandate for all to use the Chimney Sweeping Log on Christmas Eve as the yule log.

What kind of gifts does he have in that bag of his?! DOT Placarding on the sled may be required...
Does he have the correct B.O.L. for deliveries?
Since those reindeer are doing the CS rescue, they better have the backup to the attendant all squared away.
Since these entries are only done once a year, was the calibration of the 4 gas completed to ensure proper operation?
What is the communication device between the reindeer attendant and Santa?
Lockout of the flue must be done prior to entry.
Oh - I'll think of some more as I go through today...

He'll also need a work place violence program and training in case he goes down the wrong chimney.

A bloodborne pathogen and biohazard program is a must......he is sitting behind those deer all night.

I see the following omissions in addition to those already noted;

No DOT approved tailight, brakelight or turn signal assemblies
No USHA temporary occupancy permit(s)
No FTA approved braking device
No FAA approved flight plan (right Crabby?)

Yeah, what altitude does he fly at?

Does he have to have some mandatory time on the mask?

When's the last time this guy had a UA anyway?

Let's not forget proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for while Santa is away from the sleigh. (we wouldn't want little Joey to go for a ride, now would we?)

Does he have an MSDS for that can of silly string in his bag?

If there are any electronics on that sleigh, he will also need ArcFlash compliant PPE and appropriate signage.

Of course he would also need an eye wash station within easy reach of the sleigh if a bug should fly in the eye of on the critters.

Too funny thanks for sharing.

BTW, speaking of altitudes, I'm sure he would need an SCBA while flying, as the oxygen levels are way under 19.5% at 20,000 feet.

And.....I wonder how THAT fleet safety program would read.
