Default old Salmon Tackle

A friends Dad gave him all his fishing tackle. He's splitting it up and giving to his friends that fish. He gave me a bunch old Salmon plugs , flashers and dodgers. most stuff is 30+ ? yrs old. Tomics, J plugs ,Mac squids, cut plug. I saw Pearls post cut plug #3 and #4 on Brad cut plug thread and was surprised there was a couple in this box. The old flashers have a silver tin look instead of chrome.

I have one of the Charlie White lures...

went to a seminar he did and I think gave those out with price of admission. Claimed they were the next great replacement for bait.
I sport fished it in the ocean many times when bait was really working and hooked nothing.

Then I gave it a real test. When commercial trolling for coho I put in on one day...The fish were biting everything, almost...spoons worked, plugs worked, hootchies worked...every hook had a fish most of the morning...
80 hooks...well 79, one never caught a thing.....guess which one?

maybe I just picked up a dud.

don't know the value of it...but I have one for sale......

I'm going to try some for a day at Tillamook. I plan on using 5-6 beads instead of pegging it with tooth pick. Looks like they were more "super sized" back when. Most lures 8 " 9/0 hooks , Canadian wonders look to be 10" long size 9/0 . Then there might been alot more large fish 40 yrs ago.

That Charlie White lure was all the rage 25 years ago kind of like the Brads Super Plug of today.
Charlie used to travel the west and put on seminars at theaters showing his state of the art underwater salmon video hook ups and selling his lures in the lobby. Was the precursor and pioneer of the Bob Toman videos of today.
Last time I saw Charlie he was at the Valley Theater in Beaverton selling the sport of salmon fishing.

Those would look good in a display case.
