2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Was great to watch a game again, but not the same without the rowdy crowd. They did well. It will be fun to watch Jones jr. and Giles. Nice preseason win!

I was thinking I need to place some seasonal bets before they drop the odds. This is going to be a good team.

I don't know, the West looks solid this year. It will be interesting.

Can't wait, we got a deep team with a good mix of vets, youth, and leadership. Length at the wing, Robert Covington is going to really help our defense.
If Giles plays like that there won't be many minutes for Collins! But considering the rate they both will foul out we might need both!
Plus, Hood is coming back, Kanter was a stud his last time here, basically playing with one arm in the playoffs, if Nurk can keep improving we will have a fun year!

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Was fun to watch them last night. I think Melo coming off the Bench, keeping his minutes down is going to give them a good scoring punch with the second unit. Add in Nurk, Hood and Collins and it is going to be tough getting them all playing time. My biggest concern is they are awful thin at pg. Three options, if one or two go down, they are in trouble. Hopefully they sign a PG with there last 2 way spot. Going to be a fun season.

+2200 are the Blazers odds to win the conference. $10 bet pays $220
Looking for another great game tonight! I think Nurk and Hood will play tonight. Go Blazers!

Giles had another good night, because he got to play some decent minutes. Looking forward to the real games.

I got in at that!
I am forever optimistic at the beginning of each year...lol...
This team has a great chance...only thing I worry about is the lack of depth at point...but maybe we pick up someone.
And with our high energy guys playing above the rim for the first time in a long time it would be crazy in the Moda....hopefully next year!!

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
This is the deepest team in years and that is why Giles will only see garbage time when the season starts. With Kanter, Nurk, Covington and Melo getting the bulk of the minutes, plus Collins coming back in a month. Next year he should slide in to back up minutes. Should get the 5 seed and possibly the four. Going to be an interesting season, hopefully COVID doesn’t create havoc and we get close to a full season!

Denver is looking scary good. We need to turn this around in the 2nd half. I know i know, it’s preseason.

I think tonight you see a team who returned all 5 starters and a team who is trying to work on some chemistry. Lots of bad rotations. Hopefully a few more practices will help.

Well what a embarrassing effort tonight. Looks like the difference between a team who plays team ball and a team who plays hero ball. Outhustled and out played.

I agree. I will definitely take the win! CJ was on fire! Watching them gel at different points in the game was really fun to see. And if we could ever maintain some defense they would be scary good. I really hope there is no consideration in Harden coming here.

Looked great after the first quarter. Very nice win. Trent Jr. was on fire, and RoCo is going to be amazing to watch in the future! Are we really starting to get some defense? Go Blazers!
And we still beat them with all of the bad calls.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
That was fun. Kind of see that ROCO and DJJ were brought in to match up with the two LA teams. If they shoot better than a combined 3-18 this is a blow out. Not sure how they work Melo back into the lineup, the offense was much better without him.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Great game tonight, Jones and Covington need to shoot within 10’ of the hoop. Both have great hands, nice to finally have a couple guys that can get steals. Everyone had some nice looking dimes. First game my 6 year old watched from start to finish, he was jacked up, mom not so much after getting him to bed at 10pm.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Gary from down under..keeps his cool and lights up at right time. Personally I feel our inner defense needs to step up and a tad bit faster on return to defensive back court.
Highlight to me was the smashing block of Derrick Jr on the so called King. Guy got bounce. There's a reason he's the dunk champion. Lean body and the thrusters just push him up above even the tallest guy on court. This is a good team as long as Stotts learns to do adjustments at right time. Its a pleasure to see Lakers go down on their own court....and we seem to have the recipe---almost every time

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
LeBron got LeBroned on that block. The team has had an offense that could catch fire at any time. Now, the off season trades probably won the game for them last night on defense. AD only had 13. Let these guys play for a bit and I think it's a Western conference finals team. Not ready to go out on the Charles Barkley limb...... yet.

Like the NFL, which ever teams can stay healthy are going to go far. I like the Blazers have more depth than most teams, so outside of Dame, should be able to handle a injury or sickness. I hope Gary can go tonight. Will be interesting to see how they use Melo also.

Exactly, and with a shortened season the time a key player is out will have a greater effect on the end of season standings.

Seemingly every season da Blazers have either split or maybe win series wit Lakers in reg season BUT when it really matters Lakers seem to come out on top in play offs. Early in season but always hope.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
I know and it bugs me as well and baffling..to be quite honest. However LeBron is not just a player...he is a schemer and for some reason his kniving plot always put a damper.
The only reason he was so keen to finish the 2020 season was cuz most of key players/team were either out or hurt. It was a golden oppurtunity just handed over.
Lakers are not goibg to repeat the championship...THERE I SAID IT (not yelliing by any means..just boldly emphasizing it). Addition of Schroeder is okay to give a boost to bench but its not gonna be enough. If the season swings without any bumps a new victor is going to emerge. And for some godforsaken reason, we can overcome any adversary...if we can get past Nuggets. I don't know if its psychological but seems to me for over the years Denver keep putting a damper in our plans. Hopefully not this year if we can stay injury free!

Yeah He went in with a friend on a Toyota dealership out in McMinnville.
Man they played with just no energy tonight. No effort. Just sleepwalking. Going to be a interesting season. The Clips get blown out by the Mav's who then get crushed by Charlotte.
Not sure what is up with Dame, he just doesn't seem right. I know his fiancé is do any day I believe. Hopefully he wakes up after the kids are born.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Yes...I noticed that as well. He looks a lil ...not 100%. His 3 points attempts obviously are concern but missing free throws for him is like sun doesn't come up in east. Besides the court what's his business is his business but the court is where his 'time' shows and seems like he's lagging. His point production is more or less there but not the kind of point production and the slaughter he puts.

I believe ROCO is under contract for at least one more season. Plus he was first team all nba defense a few years ago.
Fun to be on that side of a blowout for once. Hopefully GTJ will be back soon.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
HHMMM Curry was on fire, Blazers couldn't look at him or else it was a foul and the team played with very little energy. Bad combination tonight. This is the kind of game at the end of the season you look back on and regret the lack of effort.

Was hopeful to begin with. Especially when Dame and Green got into it! Was ready to watch him light it up. Instead we got to watch Curry, wow! GS were embarrassed from the last game and was able to get under our skin, a bit.

Was a rough game last night. Nurk really needs to figure out how to finish around the rim. To much iso offense in the second half. They better figure out how to play team ball soon.

Two blowouts in a row. Looks like Nurk is getting in shape and maybe ROCO and DJJ starting to fit into the offense. Now if we could get some ball movement with the second unit. Hopefully we go on a little winning streak here. Next 9 games are very winnable.

Great game! Really happy that Melo is accepting his role off the bench. That was a worry for me. Looked like they were having fun and starting to get into a groove together. Let’s keep it rolling.

Harden and Durant did play together for the Thunder. Irving maybe is the odd man out for the Nets considering he is in trouble for not wearing a mask. He is also known for some conspiracy theories that may cause too much drama in a team sport.

Another win. Hopefully they can make it 5 in a row tomorrow night.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Had to listen to the game last night on the radio. Nice comeback win. A huge tree in my yard took out the power and cable when it landed in the middle of Bluff road early Wednesday morning. Just got our cable hooked back up so I get to watch tonight’s game. Go Blazers. With Harden in the east, that will be one less player in front of CJ for the Allstar game if he can continue on his roll!

It was amazing to see what real D looks like! They smothered us. Really sucks Nurk fractured his right hand.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
That was ugly last night. When they went with the full second unit in the first half is when the game was lost. Ant is just not a pg and Hood is just not ready for minutes yet. Going to be interesting to see what the rotation is like with Nurk out. I could see Giles starting just to keep Kanter in the second unit to provide scoring.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Hopefully CJ’s sprain is not too serious. Another nice comeback win. Kanter had a great game! Dame’s going to get worked if he has to play 43 minutes a game. Looks like Nurk is out for a couple months.

Re: 2020/21 Portland Trail Blazers
Yep fun team win. Tonight showed how bad the Blazers need another PG. Ant is not it. I have read he is statistically he is one of the worst players in the league, as he was last year. The Blazers are a big net negative when he is in the game, and now he might be the backup PG for a few games, depending how long CJ is out.
Spurs on Monday, Noon start time.
