Default Bottom fishing reports

Hopefully heading out of (Newport) for some bottom fishing soon, was wandering if anyone has a report on the fish bite?
Thanks BF

I don't have much to go on from your question, but the bottom fishing has been excellent on the reefs. If you are out around sunrise or sunset you should be able to catch some on the surface.
They are big this year too. If you work for the lings you should get 1 or 2.

I fished on a bottom fish charter out of Garibaldi last Thursday, first time on a charter for me. The fishing was good with limits of bottom fish easily had, and several lings brought on board. I personally landed a Ling Cod of around 12 #s, sorry to say but a ling of at least twice that size broke off. Overused line I would expect was the cause of that.
If the weather permits GO FISHING, you won't catch if your line isn't in the water.

Did they go North or South on that charter?
