If I am not mistaken, they're DHSV models. Nice reels. I appreciate the reply, but I will continue to search for the E.

Kind regards.

Have you handled the K yet? The e is a great reel, but the K is also amazing. If you can’t find the e you’re looking for, consider a K,

Thanks for the suggestion. Considering the asking prices for a "used" e that I've seen, I have to seriously consider the K and the Daiwa Tatula SV TWS which is also a very nice reel and comes with a lower gear ratio, which I prefer.

I surmise the little green Curado is sentimental (still using the CU and the BSF), but the K has the X-Ship and other significant improvements.

Kind regards.

201e7 is a good reel but salty bait eggs are tough on them or any reel , they got so hard to find and it's old technology so I switched to the steez zillion and tatula and I'm super happy with them, the breaking system is far superior to the curado in that it works with a simple turn of the dial. curado breaking system never worked very well for me.

Yes, you're right. Good insight too. Now I know what is causing the pitting I see on the used Curados!

Daiwa makes a darn good product too.

I have serviced many reels with corroded bearing pockets, caused by salt and sulfite used in egg cures getting inside the reel and not getting serviced at the end of a season of hard use. Be careful what you are buying and don't wait too long to service your reels. Curado E series, as I'm sure you know, are great reels. Good luck with your search.

Thank you for your insight. The search is difficult. Plus, the new Tatulas and K's are pretty darn nice reels that have sidestepped issues from past generations.

Maybe best to stay away from e reels from the NW and focus on those from areas where egg cures are not used.
