Default Fire starter kits!

My 11 year old son, Boone, made 5 very nice fire starter kits he’d like to try and sell. See photo below.

Each kit comes with a plastic container to hold the following components:

1 lighter with adjustable flame
6 stormproof matches and striker
1 small tub of petroleum gel
25 cotton swabs
1 film canister (to hold prepped swabs coated with petroleum gel)
1 lint wad rolled in paper towel
1 pair rubber gloves (for use when coating cotton swabs with gel)

Cost: $10
Shipping if needed: $4

Let us know if you’d like to place an order

Thanks guys, one delivered to Jonah's Revenge today!

I didn't even know he was making them Ray! lol He bought the supplies while doing errands with mom, then put them together, and had all the math done before I got home. Pretty cool!

Received my kit today! What a masterpiece......everything you need for a nice warm fire and an extra tube to put some in the daypack. My wife is always skeptical as boxes show up (especially this time of year) but she loved it. Her favorite part was the dryer lint! Best firestarter ever

Please let Boone know we received our kits yesterday. I noticed my daughter eyeing them. My wife mentioned these would be good stocking stuffer ideas for Christmas. There may be another order down the road, if the boss insists, who am I to say otherwise.

great idea! Love when the young ones act entrepreneurial!

Question: Is the plastic box that houses everything, waterproof?

Good question, we can put your kit in a gallon ziploc....lol Joking...he's had a couple different boxes he packaged them up in, none of which would stay dry if submerged, they aren't water tight, but I believe them would stay dry if just sitting out in the rain because of the overlap of the top over the bottom piece. He has a new box I'll have to check out that seems a bit tighter fitting maybe. Finding a container that keeps the kits affordable is his biggest challenge...getting water tight containers would be $10 alone for the just the container probably. So he's on the lookout for options everywhere he goes now.
