Default 2019 Seahawks

Well, here we go! I hope that Ru$$el Wil$on doesn't get injured AND does something to earn the obscene amount of money he's making...

It's unfortunate that Lockett dropped the pass in the 4th quarter to help ice the game; but the ball was thrown where it needed to be at the right time.

Absolutely correct! Ru$$ can do his job, but the receiver has to do his also. The O line looked horrible most of the day. The Seahawks have GOT TO get rid of Germain Idiotfedi!
To my eye, Ru$$ is looking less mobile by the day. That *was* the main thing that separated him from other QBs. Without speed, quickness and shiftiness, he's a shorter than average, mid pack QB, getting top QB pay. He's still holding the ball too long. It's not going to end well!

Russell running for his life was always a recipe for disaster, and he and the team knows it. He still moves to make a play, but his value is his experience knowledge and great accuracy. He had half the yardage of his opponent and still won.

Wilson can still get er done but I think he has slowed just a bit too. First couple of years in the league I thought he looked like Fran Tarkington. Looks like he put on a couple of #s too, but maybe not

Agreed about the experience. He's NOT a pocket passer. The slower he gets, the lower his value, particularly since the O line is not elite. Instead of running downfield, far too often we see him running backward and taking sacks when he used to be able to avoid them. The Seahawks were fortunate to get a win at home against a team they should have dominated.

Metcalf looked legit.

Wilson is getting too old to play that kind of ball.

Absolutely legit! I was pleased when they drafted him!
The Jadaveon Clowney acquisition was outstanding; I just hope he can avoid injury! Rashaad Penny, still underwhelming. Germain Ifedi; still screwing up....

At close to $2 mil per game, I'm sure glad it's not MY money! Do the Seahawks win another Superbowl with Ru$$$$$el at the controls over the next 4 years? I hope I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt it...

Any road win is a good one, but it was another shaky, sloppy one. Germain Ifedi had another 3 penalties and could have been called for more. At least Penny finally did... something. Three whole career TDs from your first round pick. There's a draft pick and money well spent... DK Metcalf, however, continues to impress!

Next week's test will be a stiff one, fortunately at home. Then maybe we'll see it the 2019 version of the Seahawks is anything more than a "good" team.

I worked Saturday night and watched the Seahawks game after I got up Sunday, so I didn't hear about the injury to Drew Brees until the evening during the Philly-Atlanta game. I have doubts that Drew will start on Sunday, but, he's been *nearly* "Favre" like, so we'll see. Vegas hasn't posted a line on the game yet, so, it's a fair "bet" that Teddy will start. Either way, the Seahawks will be a favorite at home, likely around -3.5 pts.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how Teddy plays. He had so much upside before he blew his knee out and was quite fun to watch. Such a shame for a young man with so much potential! My daughter had almost the exact same injury and she's never been the same since.

I heard on the radio while taking my daughter to school that Drew Brees has a torn ligament and will be out 6 weeks...

The news is reporting that he needs surgery and will be out at least 6 weeks. Bridgewater was a pretty good 1/4 back until his injury and he could still be good. He looked good in Sunday’s game except he had a couple of plays were he hesitated. Seattle had best prepare for a tough game

Rudolph looked good... made me think of a young Ben waiting on the sidelines behind Maddox. The new guard is here...

Pass D stunk...

Agreed! He showed some good mental toughness after his initial awful series. He throws a pretty ball and looks smooth in his delivery. It shows confidence that coach Tomlin didn't just have him hand the ball off.

So, you're a Ravens fan then, SCI? Lamar Jackson is quite an upgrade over Flacco and definitely fun to watch!

Funny... I was talking with a guy my dad's age about how "the game" doesn't seem like the one I grew up watching as kid in W. PA. All for show and highlights... where are the four horseman anymore.

The game has evolved, a lot. I first started keeping up with and watching football (when I could) about 60 years ago. The players today are faster, taller, bigger, stronger and better educated too. They have videos they watch and headsets they listen to during the game. Better training facilities too. But they lack some thing that the players from days gone by. Today’s players seem to put themselves above team. They are reaching for personal records which maybe help the team but is still for their own glory. I truly dislike that today’s receivers will try to get a pass interference when they didn’t catch the ball. Maybe I’m way off here but it’s how I feel. Maybe I’m too old and didn’t evolve with the game. Four Horsemen, Iron Curtain, Fearsome Foursome, Doomsday Defense, Purple People Eaters

I was busy in Portland earlier today so I had to watch the recorded game this evening and I have a few observations.

Why on Earth didn't Ken Norton dial up LOTS more pressure on Teddy? Time after time, it was drop back into a loose Cover 2 instead of blitzing. Teddy was far too comfortable for a young QB.

The Seahawks had absolutely no answer, whatsoever, for Alvin Kamara. Dude is a pure stud.

The Seahawks got the majority of breaks, penalty wise, (for a change) but then hardly made the Saints pay for them. A glaring exception was the missed FGA where the center was sorta "covered". First down as a result and the Saints turned it into 7 points. Tick tack penalty, but also lazy and sloppy!

Ru$$el Wil$on is NOT worth $2 mil per game. He missed several crucial easy passes. QBR of 73.2? Weak...

Germain Ifedi with only one penalty (holding) for an entire game? Signs of the Apocalypse....

Coach Pete taking two timeouts into the locker room at the half? Beautiful reception by DK Metcalf, down to the 10, just before halftime, and it meant absolutely nothing.

The Seahawk's equipment manager should be fired immediately. Your home games are in a wet climate and your running backs, the Crux of your offense, do not have solid footing? What's up with that?

So who was the non-uniformed person that ran onto the field after the interception that cost them 15 yards and a lot of momentum.

Wilson scored four touchdowns himself. I saw one fumble and a special teams screw up on a kick lead to two touchdowns for the saints. This wasn't on Wilson.

Wilson scored four touchdowns himself. I saw one fumble and a special teams screw up on a kick lead to two touchdowns for the saints. This wasn't on Wilson.
Ru$$el scored two touchdowns himself. Lockett and Will Dissly scored the other two. Ru$$el also overthrew a simple toss and catch to an unguarded Tyler Lockett in the endzone that even Ryan Leaf could have made...

A sloppy special teams play put them behind the eightball from the start, but poor tackling was evident throughout the game. Tre Flowers looks to be regressing this season.

I thought the defensive scheme really sucked today. You gotta go after Teddy!

You can't lose a game like this one at home, with a backup at the controls. The Seahawks are a merely good team this year, not a great one. They *might* make it into the playoffs, but is anyone betting the mortgage they get past the first round? Looks to be yet another year of frustration to me...

Yesterday was better.

I would take 90% completion rate to the tight ends all year long.

I think we left the Rams with too much time.

Yup, saw that on the first replay. 5 minutes later the Refs get the call right.

Lol. That was a gift. Seattle's Defense really put them in a position to have an easy win.

That was a nail-biter of a second half.

What in the world were they thinking on that 3rd and 1 with the option/pitch/whatever that was?!?! They would have been better off just running the ball up the gut! Instead, they loose 4 yards and give LA the ball back with plenty of time left...
