Default Flat Fish/small Kwik Fish

I went to Sportsmans in Salem the other day to pick up a couple Flat Fish for our trip to East Lake. They had 1 on the wall and that was it and no Kwik Fish in trout sizes. I asked the sales person about their lack of inventory and was told that there was no demand and they weren't going to carry them any longer. He said that was the case for most of their plugs.

Bi-Mart carries a few but not many sizes or colors. I finally found a small Mag Lips that I'll try. Anyone else have trouble finding them?

Fisherman's carries a good selection. A bit of a hike from Salem but you could order off their website.

Small flatfish in the "frog" color is a slayer of trout.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to take some of the old Flatfish that I do have that never really produced and take my airbrush and custom paint a few. Who knows, I might get luck.

I can't beat an offer like that. I'll shoot you a PM. By the way, that bike trailer that you built for me a few years ago is still going strong. Not always hauling an animal out of the woods with it but has gotten a lot of use.

Thanks

Good deal Wayne glad to hear. I dont fish the high lakes much so if you can put them to use that works for me.

Take care

I’ve used F4 flatfish in frog, perch, and fire tiger for years with good results. My only complaint is a that I’d lose fish often due to the single treble hook and it’s location on the plug. If they didn’t hammer it and get fairly deep in the mouth I’d have fish pop off a lot. A few years ago I started using small crankbaits that are intended for panfish and my bite to hookup ratio went way up. Most have 2 smaller trebles instead of 1 like a flatfish, which really helps keep them on the hook. Cabelas/bass pro has a ton of them.

I've had great results with the Maglip 2.0 at Chickahominy in the frog pattern.Flatlined 80-100 feet. That lake is shallow and the 2.0 dives around five feet.Strikes were violent and only lost one fish.Took grandkids to Northfork res above Estacada last week. Fished my normal kokanee gear off two down riggers and flatlined the 2.0 100 feet back and that frog pattern hooked seven stocker rainbows to zero off the down rigger rods.good luck

Same as above with tandem hooks! Stops those fish falling off really well! Available online, Just ordered more because the fish tear 'em up so badly. Trebles are easily replaceable and the F4's accept the F5 size with no problem. Just open up the eye on the lure, remove hook and add tandem rig.
Try it! You'll really like it!
