Default central oregon cell service

Consumer Cellular has up until now been the perfect provider. It seems that lately though the ATT towers overload on weekends and we can't connect. I've had off and on service since the middle of last week when the rodeo came to town. Talked to CC - yes, that's a problem, they have to put in a ticket to ATT, maybe tomorrow we'll hear, maybe someday they'll upgrade the tower.

So anyone over here, pref around Sisters, have a carrier that they like?

Thanks.

Verizon is hands down gonna be your best bet. Not the cheapest. ATT probably gets loaded up with all the valley traffic heading over that way to go sip their microbrews and wear their patagonia garb.

We had Verizon and switched to US Cellular. Will be switching back as soon as our phones are paid off. We never had any issues with Verizon anywhere in CO, including Sisters and up in the cascades.

I know with Verizon I have service in Sisters, Bend, Prineville, John Day, Unity. You pay more for their service, but it's nice to be able to call out to check in or phone a friend to help with a pack out.

You mean going the 30 And under local crowd over here? The “lumbersexuals”

Yes Verizon, followed by US cell. US Cell sucks outside of central o though. No data agreements with any provider so nothing but calls and texts at the coast.

Glenn, we had Verizon in Eagle Crest. Never a problem. I still have it here in New Mexico, and it is the best here as well.

Verizon is the only cell service I can connect to at my house. I have a Tracfone using the Verizon towers and haven't had a problem in 5 years. My wife switched to a verizon iphone 2 years ago because she couldn't connect at home with her ATT phone.

After you pay off your phones use Verizon prepaid 35.00 bucks a month unlimited text voice and mail with 2 gigs I have been very happy with it and see no difference from there regular service.

Looks like a t-mobile tower plan. I tried T-mobile before I left Consumer Cellular, worse than att over this way.

In all seriousness, go with Verizon. I was just going against the miraculous unanimous ifish decision.

And yes, T mobile can certainly suck. I'm currently with sprint and thinking of going with Verizon, simply because sprint is now owned by t mobile.

I was on ATT for one year, 2001. After sitting side by side with my brother who had Verizon and having no service I made the switch as soon as my contact was up. I've been with Verizon since 2002 and only been let down a few times with no service. But compared to friends and family on ATT, T-Mobile and Sprint, I consider myself blessed.

Have had US Cellular for years. Switched to Verizon a couple years ago because they worked better for out of area and overseas travel. Immediately at home I had dropped calls, intermittent service, and poor connections. Wifi calling helped, but as soon as I left the house, it all went bad. Fortunately, I did Verizon through Costco, so they took the phones back, reversed the contract and I went back to US Cellular.

There are pockets of areas that Verizon doesn't work well at all, especially eastern Bend.

After a few days I have had a couple dropped calls. Way better coverage so far but I haven't driven down 97 or out east on 20 yet either.

Well, you nailed it. You could have been describing my Verizon experience for the last month. I'm back on ATT with Consumer Cellular, just have to live with a crowded tower now and then I guess.

US Cell for 20yrs+. Great service all over Central Oregon and up and down the Hwy 97 corridor. Not the best price, but I want something that works.
