Would love to attend, but for many of us Salty Dogs, August 25th is the Garibaldi leg of the Oregon Tuna Classic. We'll be thinking of you, and all the fun everyone is having.

Not like we won't be having fun too, or anything...

Question about the clamming thing: isn't razor clamming closed July 15th- Sept 15th? Also the low for the 25th of August will be at 514 am, so by the time it is light the tide will have been coming in for quite a while.

Razor clamming, yes. Razor clamming is closed!!!!

I have way too many things going on to do this right.
Chalk up one screw up for Jennie!

Is there other clamming available?

No, wait a minute. I think we knew that clamming was closed. We are focusing on salmon fishing, cuz of B-10.

I think I just had a coffee less moment.

B-10 is what is happening. I am fishing all week. However may not be anywhere near B-10 as we usually fish above the little white church on the Washington side.

Should really be a fun time at ifishstock.

Jen,
Glenda's 60th is within a couple of days so the kids and I are busy with that and I'm just coming off my prized antelope tag, so will have to miss it. Sure sorry. Last year was fun.

(Razor clamming will be open at Cannon Beach, I think...)

Currently the regs indicate that the closure is for beaches North of Tillamook Head. So Cannon Beach would be open, however, that early tide would be a problem, coupled with a likelihood of Domaic acid poisoning closure.

Even if there weren't the Tuna Classic, the dogs rarely attend ifishstock, just cuz of TUNA! period. If the weather is good, NOTHING stops you guys from TUNA!

I just don't count on the dogs to attend unless it's a no show on the big blue.

I have taken the family each year we have been able to go.
I guess I will have to take my Tasty Tuna Toasties to Garabaldi...

Yeah... but no matter what date I chose, it conflicts with something.
I didn't know about this until it was too late.
I went through all the calendar, and all the tournaments that I had been told about...
And, of course, this is the only date it's open for chinooks.

So.... it is what it is. Those who can come, will.

See you at the Christmas Party. That's turning out to be the event of the year, really, anyhow!

I just had a thought... Wouldn't it be COOL if we could combine the two? We could have it at the Garibaldi campground, instead! Then all ifishers could join in the celebration of the Tuna fishing event!

Hmmmmmm.

Jennie,

My b-day, and anniversary are on the 22nd. My wonderful loving wife made the decision that we would camp at Fort Stevens, and fish Bouy 10 the 22nd thru 24th. If you or anyone else has a suggestion for a great restaurant and possible entertainment on the 22nd after fishing I'm all ears (rabbit ears )

My new bride and I will be there. Kinda like a post honeymoon trip.

Andy.

P.S. wouldn't mind filling a couple of seat for salmon if any open

What are my options if I can only make it at the last moment?
Do I need a reservation or can I put up a small tent with someone already camped there?

Well if you have something to barter with, I think we should have spare grass for a extra tent... I told the wife Im going on limted gear... I dont want to haul our complete camping setup... just the basics baby... just the basics...

I wonder if it's legal to also put a tent on your site? I mean... within their rules. Ya might wanna check on that. Tent spots are pretty cheap, but they don't have any left, according to the reservation site.

Every year... it seems like as ifish gets bigger and bigger, ifishstock seems to get less and less response to threads. I don't know if this is because people feel less community and family like, or what?

It's usual I guess... that we become less and less a close family as ifish grows. It makes me sad, at the same time, though.
I post things about ifishstock, and they used to get pages long. This year I posted a needs list and it got very few responses... So I just went out and bought stuff. Here's a huge thank you to those that pm'd me and did post suggestions of help. I appreciate you so much!

Every year I get the heeby jeebies about "Will anyone attend?" But, this year, with the tuna tournament and the salmon tournament at NSIA, I'm really worried if anyone will show up! I think we'll have so many prizes, that we'll just divide them up, have dinner and go home? OK... so that is my worst fear, and it never happens-- or it hasn't yet... but still! It's scary! Even if it did happen, it would be a blast to be with just a few people, one year! I'd get to actually VISIT!

Francis Caldwell will be attending. He's the author of some of my favorite books and I think he's going to bring some for sale. He's such an awesome guy and is now writing for ifish. His new column is here.

KOA wanted to know if we still needed all those tent spots for parking. If you need a tent spot, let me know before I let all the spaces go, today. Otherwise, they are saying that they have no room left.

You have to pay for your own spot, but they are held under ifish's name. They may have already let them go.

I've done an awful lot of work on this party. I hope that it turns out for everyone. This party is our way of saying thank you from ifishers to ifishers. We get together, put names to faces, and eat a whole bunch!

Ya know, every year... I wonder if it will be the last time I put this on. One year I was too busy and Ryan P put it on in Portland. That was fun! It was really casual, and people just got to visit. No prizes... just fun! Maybe we'll do that, again next year.

Maybe I'm just tired from planning it all, and frankly, I think I shouldn't be doing all this again. It just drains me! --during a time when my eyesight is going, and I'm worried about that, well... I'm pooped! I'm just rambling....

Regardless of everything, I look forward to seeing those that are able to attend, and I hope I have time this year to visit with everyone, rather than run around like a chicken with her head cut off. Visiting and meeting folks is what it is all about. Right?

Thank you to all that donated their services and their goods. I was going through them all in the past couple days, and all I can say is "WOW!" What a showing of support! I feel very blessed! I can't wait to share it all with those that post their input on this site called ifish.net.

It's been a long road, building ifish, and as I sit back with my coffee this morning and look over the forums, the thousands of posts, the good and the not-so-, I smile.

I have met so many friends on ifish! I'm so very thankful!

Jen

Wow Jen, it almost seems as if youre leaving or this will be the last ifish bbq/bouy10 party... I hope not. Getting back into fishing after racing and other family activities ( teenagers arent so bad, they want more friends time and that frees me up for my fun things) Ive now become more into fishing. The people on this board are very helpful. Id like to think that more could help you out in prep and organization for next years event. Lets not let the ifish BBQ die..

I'm just feeling emotional... (You know us girls. )

I have a bad habit of pretty much saying how I'm feeling. Not much hidden, here, here!

I'm just wishing that we could have it a group event again, and that others would pitch in and feel part of the creation of it. It's really fun to do these kinds of things together!

It's no big. It won't be the last ifishstock. I promise that!
