Default Any shad bank access for swinging a fly?

Some friends of mine dropped me off on an island last year and I had so much fun swinging little shrimpy patterns for shad. I'd love to go back, but don't have a boat. Google earth shows some good beaches and shallow runs on the Oregon side just below Dodsen. Thinking about taking a look. Does anyone know if there is any public access to any of that? Is there parking? Is it fishable? Is it time to go now? THANKS for any tips.

I bet you could probably get them out in front of McCord creek. Park under the 84 bridge and walk the creek out to the Columbia. Make sure to do it before the steelhead plunkers start showing up...lots of flat bank to walk up and down river with the current running fairly close to shore

Thanks guys- not looking like I will be able to sneak away. Work calls, unfortunately. I appreciate the help though, sincerely. DS
