Default Live report from head of the channel

Got out at 6:45 fishing solo. No bites. About 10 other boats in the area. I have seen no nets. Everyone out here is fishing solo as well. Cathedral Park ramp is open. Water temp 48 degrees. Winds light and variable. Cloudy skies. Question for folks. When fishing alone, what is best depth to run your one bait at. I am running 15-15’.

I am too inexperienced to help with the depth but appreciate these live reports. Did you put in at Cathedral or Fred's? You dragging a herring or going outside the box?

Ok I was running 12-14 pulls so sounds like I’m in the game. It is best to have 2-3 guys so I can get different depths but not possible under the circumstances. At least I have virtual advice friends!

The amount of lead used comes into play here too...

I think they are talking 45 degree line angle.

Running using "Pulls" in deep water I always set my depth finder to look at 15'-24' and adjust the sensitivity up until you get some clutter in that depth range. Watch for larger marks that may be fish, and make note of the depth and adjust accordingly.

I can adjust my sonar to the point that I can see my weight so know at what depth I'm running bait.
Ahh, I miss this springer fishing stuff. What a great time to be in the harbor. I refuse to pay the money for inept management though.
