Default true HP ratings used by USCG and insurance co

here is the formula used by the USCG and major insurance companies when rating HP on a vessel under 20 feet,

(Length in feet X width of beam in feet X 2)-90 round up to nearest 5 hp

over 20 ft 1 inch it defers to a manufacturer RECOMMENDED max hp.. but true hp for USCG is unlimited and only limiting factor is the weight rating of the hull
