Default Blue dogs in bait stops

Not really sure why everyone suffers the blue dog. The blue dog is like the Sea gulll. He is cleanup crew the janitor. He generally eats injured wounded Baits. things tuna is not looking for dragging deadbeats dragging live bait injured wounded improperly acting bait these are all a dinner bell for the Bluedog. generally speaking if you are drifting your bait correctly with good technique you will not suffer the Bluedog. Easy to teach guys skills if they have a desire to learn. I have drifted for hours with blue dogs around the boat catching tuna the whole time. sharks do not scare Tuna. Why leave the area you havework the tuna up in just because of a few sharks? At least throw em some heads or guts and return to top of drift. If you teach your crew skills such as dead bait and live bait techniques live well technique. Don’t scoop 10 baits scoop one bait or if you get two bait pin one throw the other in next to it. Do not put it back in the bait tank. Do not leave the net in the bait tank. generally speaking guys suffer because of poor technique or lack of knowledge. my two cents.

The boat is out of service until further notice and won't be seeing any saltwater. The only water is going to be from the garden hose and the sky

I agree with you for the most part, except for when your reeling in only half of a fish.

Maybe, fish all of a sudden felt funny, the line was shaking and acting weird, come to find out the fish was trying to swim without a tail.

Puffin, I don't know the first thing about bait fishing tuna...never have done it (really want to some day)

but I do very much appreciate this thread, I despise people killing blues for getting in their way, it is such a self centered poor character trait to kill them...not much makes me more mad than that mentality, giving those people options is a good thing.

I do agree, bringing back half fish isn't the blues.
