Default Curse of Oak Island show.

Is it just me or is this show a joke? They drill holes into the ground and gather bits of material that is all they will ever get using these tactics. Can you imagine if Shakespeare's manuscripts or the Arc of the Covenant is burred there and the run an auger through it???

One of the dumbest shows I've ever tried to watch.... Watched a little of a couple of early episodes and it was painful. Hard to believe it's still on.

It's a boondoggle and I don't believe that any significant treasure will be found. However sometimes it is morbidly interesting to watch a boondoggle unfold which may explain why I watch it.

That show (and others) are filmed maybe 6 months to a year in advance of airing them. If they would ever find any thing significant, it would be plastered all over the nightly news.

Stopped watching it after the first season, A real "pretty boy" with no experience with equipment. Looks like he just walked out of his NY apt, but I'm sure his bank account looks a lot better than mine.
Looking for lost gold, Hitlers gold train, gold rush, etc all the same.
Wish I could come up with one.

“Tried to watch.” Me too, so much nothing going on. If anything were ever found there we’d hear it on the news or somewhere else, not a dumb TV show.

Yeah it is like watching a slow motion car wreck. Very earnest folks working but to what end? Watching them strike out again and again is losing its interest and Im a glutton for these types of shows. Now just fast forward to see if they turn up anything neat. I also understand the intrigue of why is there all this stuff deep underground, but pretty sure anything of value that was there was dug up long ago.

The only cool way to get down to the bottom of that money pit is to do a cross over show and have Todd Hoffman or Tony Beats run that entire island through a wash plant!

I watched part of a recent show out of curiosity. The prospecting they are doing has to run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Big money behind these guys or they started out rich and will end up poor.

Not sure how accurate a site like this is, but here is some info, close to what I've read a couple different places over the past two or three years:

It is hilarious, every time they find anything the narrator says "A coin found on Oak island?, possibly left by Knights Templar?" Now when we find stuff while digging a post hole somebody always says "A horseshoe found on Hidden Hill Ranch?, possibly left by Spanish Conquistadors?" To which somebody says "I have to call Rick!"

The show is interesting to me the only part that bothers me is the fact they could be ruining any priceless artifacts that might be buried there.

Gold rush is also interesting to a point but I hate made up drama and what they do to the property they dig up. I would like to see if they restore any of the ground they tear up or if it is just left a mess.

The money pit has been a dream of my brother and I much like what the current team has and for much the same reason. We read about it as kids and have drooled over it ever since. Sounds like the current owner has it figured out though. He is making bank on the show and reinvesting it into the money pit so it is kind of self-feeding even if they don't pull anything of any real value out of it. It is fun to watch someone else fulfill the dream there.

So far though the pit has lived up to its name. Might as well be a boat on land. A hole into which one throws their money.

I am surprised they just don't excavate the whole money pit site and quit playing with holes. Maybe the local government is opposed but it seems it would destroy less.

I think the most interesting part of show is the history behind all the searching that has been done on the island. There have basically been groups of people digging around on the island for the past 250 years....

"Gold fever" is alive an well in the human race!
