Default 24 NR Hard Top - First Impressions

So took possession a week ago and have now had a chance to get it on the water, lots of first impressions.

Random stuff:
* Love the boat, solid construction and fit/finish seem outstanding.
* Thing rides nose high? Not used to that, used to my sled which rides much more level. Rides awesome, but this will take getting used to.
* Trailer sucks. Don't order a new one with the standard trailer, sheet metal and VERY cheaply assembled. Lots of better options out there, this will get changed out at some point.
* If you are under 6' and are going to install a couple chart plotters - have them raise the seat 6".
* Love the rear transom door, didn't think I needed it - I do.
* Have a 300 Yami - enough motor but not too much. Glad I stuck with that.
* Upgraded the kicker to a 25 Yami HT thinking of more ocean safety - Jury's out on this move...You have to trim out the additional weight with the tabs and Im not sure it's worth it over the 9.9. Stick with the 9.9HT.
* For the ocean...get the Miller Marine front anchor locker cover. Cant imaging taking a wave over the front and the amount of water that would inhabit the bilge - eliminate that variable.
* Got the rear curtain, like it so far. Condensation is a thing if using a buddy heater, have to find a solution to that at some point.
* If you're going to keep a large cooler on the deck, have it before hand and have them install mounts for it when setting the floors. Tough to do after the fact.
* Sucks to not have interior access to bilge pumps - upgrade to 2 of them and make them the 2000's.
* Did I say the trailer sucks?
* Forget about the $500 boarding ladder, takes up offshore bracket real estate and better options exist for less $$ that mount underneath.
* If you will run a kicker, order a dual binnacle - 1 side for main and the other for kicker, very convenient and less clutter.
* Order the table mount from AMPRO for the ski pole for your fillet table, very clean install.
* Don't go with the rod holder track from NR...better options exist for less $$ and you get regular Scottys - Boo.

All I can think of for now...I'll post more once I get it back from electronics install and get more seat time. Happy to share if you have questions.

may be a good time in the near future for a deal on a 9.9. 25 does seem awfully big, but understand your thought process for ocean.

Great looking boat! I have a 24 Seahawk and love it out in the ocean.

Looks like you have trim tabs. Can't you trim your bow down to what you want? Sweet ride. And don't forget trim tabs in following seas No Bueno. Safe travels and many happy days ahead for you sir.

I bought a 22' last spring. Pretty happy with it so far for the price. I have a soft top and mounted two 10" screens on the dash as far back as possible. I don't have a problem seeing over them. With the hard top I would have gone with an overhead mount. I know what you mean about feeling like the bow rides high. Takes a few hours behind the wheel and things will seem normal.

I doubt the 25 will plane that hull... I'd bet the max displacement speed with the 9.9 is similar.

I can push the nose down with the tabs but it really feels sluggish with them dug in. I think it's probably a normal thing....just not used to it.

I like the cover too. I don't use the locker anyway so blocking off that hole seems like a good idea.
