Default Weight guestamate please.

Took my goodluck wife down to the wilson yesterday and nailed this native buck. I need a educated guess on the weight for my fishtale. He was verry unhappy with that spinner and took us for quite the ride compleet with airials, rolls and runs. Absolutly great to catch and relese.

I would say Big by Large. Like others have said, the pics are hard to judge by. Sure looks like a mid to high teens. Not sure about 20 but then the pics can mess with a guess. Nice no matter what.

It probably appears slightly skewed since it's kinda extending towards the camera a bit, but even with that in mind its head looks HUGE (way bigger than your boot for comparison, although that gets shrunken being towards the edge of the camera's view field).

Given all that, I'd say upper teens easy, maaaybe 20.

I'm with the 18 crowd. What size lure is that? Some of us with no time on their hands can get stupid and guestimate based on the blade length and relating that to the fish size. It's in no way accurate because of the bend of the tail but you get the general idea.

JDARR hit it right.

18-21.

18 at the very least.

I have a pic of a bonafide 18.

Your fish is bigger.

Can tell by your hand around the tail and the belly.

You are ok saying 20#.

I would say it is a few pounds shy of 20. It is one hell of a fish, but the fact that you can easily reach around the tail is a dead give away to me that it is a no go on the 20 club. Unless that sucker is about 44'' long anyways. Nice fish either way. 17.5 give or take

That depends on who you are telling and asking. Most guys would tell you its a solid 20 pounds. I personally would call it a 14 to 16 pounder. Regardless, nice fish and a bet a real blast to play with. Congrats!

That's the problem with the Orygun 20 and pics.

The way most people take pics, a bonafide 20 looks like it's 15 or less.

A skilled photographer easily can make a bonafide 15 look like an Orygun 20.

Just sayin....

I just learned this is called "necroposting" and is either funny or very bad internet behavior.

Or not be a Bogart, and pass the mask.
Oh yeah, that whole virus thing. Dang!

I'll play, though. I used to catch a few that size fairly consistently on the Miami River. Heaviest one I weighed was around 17lbs. Stay safe everybody.

Nice fish! and old thread bump

16-17 lbs is my guess. As eyefish said it is hard to judge by the picture (an arm extending out can make it look quite a bit bigger). Measuring is the solid way to find out...at/around 40" length is 20 lbs depending on girth.

You can mark your pole with 30", 35" and 40" measurements. This way you can hold the fish up to the pole real quick before you release it. Or just hold it up to your pole and eyeball where it falls (eyelet # for example) and just measure later when you get home.
