Default Lucky Jerky Kit

So i made some jerky with this kit... It was SOOOO salty!!!!!! Im getting ready to make another batch....


If i put in 1/2 the sodium nitrate will it make it "less" salty???

Read the ingredients closely. It’s not the Sodium Nitrate making it salty, it’s the salt. Might try a little bit of Kosher salt and a whole bunch of brown sugar the next time.

I do agree 1000% on the Kosher salt and brown sugar.

Finn- I looked at the cure ingredients list. Salt makes up at least 96% of the cure while Sodium Nitrate is but 1.25%. Not buying into the Nitrate making it too salty.
