Default P.V. Mexico end of January

Looking at doing 2.5 day trip out of P.V end of January with the Osuna brothers. How should fishing be then? Never fished there before so let me have it, good bad or ugly.

Consider adding the extra day. We did the 3 1/2 first week of Jan last year. The extra day payed off for us. ( A 317 lb super cow) You won't fish with anybody that will work harder to get em. Before daylight till after dark. And three great meals a day to boot.

I'll be fishing with them on the 22nd, so I'll post a report afterward. Doing a 12 hour.

thanks for all the feedback. Really looking forward to it. Will talk to rest of my party about adding a third day.
Think I am going to bring a popping rod along to play with, any recommendations?
I am looking at the Jigging World ghost hunter GHP-76-150 with a saragosa 10k or something similar.

When I asked Danny if we could bring anything he suggested a spool of 80 and a spool of 100 floro leader. Fishermans has both. They tie up about 20 ft leaders, so each one is good for about five. Also, if you plan on bringing fish home. They filet, vac pack, and freeze on the boat. I suggest you take at least 4 insulated Costco like bags with you. They will fill them when you get off the boat last morning. They hold right at 50 lbs. Good luck.

Barnes turned me on to these:

https://aocoolers.com/36-pack-vinyl-cooler-black.html

They hold 50 lbs of frozen or cold fish.

You can stuff 2 into one and fly them down with you. We did that for our Cedros trip and it worked slick.

When I have fished PV i ran to the store and bought basic igloo 40 quart coolers and put exactly 50# in each.

Last time I brought home 3 and paid the baggage fee. They will make you have them plastic wrapped at the airport during check in.

I'd leave your coffee grinder at home. Go, listen, learn.

My write up from last Thanksgiving down there:
