Default Is there a small harbor/campground like this

Here in N. Ca. one of our most favorite fishing campground is going to close in a few years. It is going to be closed by the state to replace what I think may be one of the last wooden bridges, if not the last one. The campground will be used for the new footprint of the new bridge. The campground sits along the Albion River that goes under the Hwy 1 bridge to a well small protected cove. What is so unique is that you can tie up your boat to the dock and your campsite is right there. I can run out and fish a couple hours, come back in tie up, go have a hot breakfast and go back out again. It's a lot like camping here on the Delta, rare to have Ocean access like this. Campsites have power and water and a limited number of sites have full hook ups. Clean bathrooms and showers, fish cleaning station, small store and a grill that servers burgers and such. So my question is there a place similar to this anywhere in Oregon? There are many places with bigger harbors with slips and may have a campground or a RV park close by like Charleston , but was wondering about smaller more of a campground set up. And yes the fishing is excellent even in a small Alum. boat,,,gregg

Bummer.... It'd been there forever. And the only place like that along the north coast... Use to Ab dive out of there 40 years ago.

What a great place. Will you still have access to it at all when it closes?

Sawyers Landing on the Yaquina Bay? Closest thing I can think of in Oregon...

There's a few places along the Nehalem River also.

Bummer. I used to fish/dive/crab out of there in the 80's. One of the neatest little hidden spots around. You might want to look at Crescent City.. Clean new docks and has a campground by the harbor on north side and excellent fishing with good protection from the summer winds.

When my kids were little I used to take my family to Windy Cove Campground on the Umpqua at the mouth. You could rent a slip. Not walking distance to your campsite. And included a bar crossing but in July and August it was usually pretty mellow.

I always put my boat back on the trailer and parked it at our campsite so I could go through gear etc for the next day.

That place in your pics looks pretty sweet.

How far north do you want to go?

Sekiu (on the Straight of Juan de Fuca in far NW Washington) fits the bill.

Neah Bay is closer to ocean fishing, but it turns into a total zoo during halibut days. The Makah Reservation is pretty rustic in terms of services, but a cool place. The walk from the campground to the marina is a little further, but still doable (10 minute walk). The campground is across the road and behind the jetty on the left side of this picture.

I did the same but years earlier, the mid to late 60's.
