Default Gelcoat repair help requested

Hi all, my Arima boat has a few chips in the gelcoat exterior and quite a few scratches. Some of the chips go down to the fiberglass. The scratches don’t go very deep at all so I am more concerned with the chips. Most of these are on the port side from the previous owner and they are all above the waterline.

What are my best options here? Grind and fill the chips and scratches or should I re-apply new gelcoat to the exterior of the whole boat and sand? I’ve never messed with Gelcoat before but the process of applying it sounds relatively easy. Thoughts?

Have you looked on the Arima owners forum. I know there have been some pretty good gel coat repair discussions over there.

I have, mostly what I have found is small chip repair which is sort of what I will have to do. I’ve also read it’s very difficult to color match, so if it’s not to much hassle I was thinking rolling on topside paint after Gelcoat spot repairs, or Gelcoat above the chine line around the whole boat so that panel will match up.
