Went Ling Cod fishing today with

Amy

, George, and my nephew Max and his wife Elizabeth, who are visiting from Tennessee. Fun!
Headed about 5 miles north of Depoe Bay in 130 feet of water where there is good structure and plenty of fish. Ocean was a bit confused early but settled down as the morning wore on. Fishing was excellent! Every drift produced at least 1 keeper Ling. More fish were caught on jigs than herring, but everything was working today. We tossed back all fish less than 24" and longer than 33", and were still done with our 10 keepers before 10:30. The lings were feeding aggressively; mostly serious take-downs. 1 big cabezon released, plus various rock fish descended and released. Great day on the big pond!
