We had snow on the street in front of our house in Astoria this morning. Was really odd. There was only a couple other places where you could see a little bit. It looked like it was just dumped there by someone. Had a tiny but intense storm come through last night, the kind of thing that might produce a tornado. Lightning and thunder, hardest rain I’ve ever experienced.

I was going to leave on Monday, headed to Montana for some prime fly fishing. Forecast calls for up to 4’. Think I’ll fish Port Angeles instead.

Hard to tell if that big storm cell will get here.
Specially when I turn on the wind stream overlay.

It looked light and fluffy. I didn’t go out and test it.

Default SNOW!!! 1"~4" on mountain passes Sunday

We spent the day leisurely hunting grouse, chanterelles, plinking 12 gauge Ithica, Ruger 7722 and Beretta 92 and driving above 3,000’-4,000’ +.

It was 45F at home. It was sunny and high 30s up in the SW Cascades, then the weather arrived and it stayed 36F sleeting hard at times & accumulating like snow. Then it softened up light rain for the drive down, holding 37F at 5 pm.

I had a chance at a ruffed and missed. We flushed a big black bear down the road in front of the truck then bolting up over the ridge into the brush, shiny black big round rear with claws a flailing.

Nice outing, CCW. Nothing wrong with a fall day, a bear and a flushed ruffy.

It was absolutely dumping like a blizzard coming over Sikiyou just south of Ashland Saturday evening.

What you get for being down in the sunny south, when the tuners and nooks and silvers are hitting like crazy up here.
It's Karma's way of slapping you.
