Default Our Constitution

From the preamble and the 2nd amendment respectively:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, . . ."

"A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, being the best security of a free state, . . ."

Thanks for posting. Should be required reading for every student in school. I never did like, The Pledge Of Allegiance but this has real value.

Agreed, when i got older, I always equated the Pledge of Allegiance to some sort of indoctrination mantra (which it is).

This is much more appropriate.

Might you have the second amendment wrong? I think it goes like this

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I was watching a movie the other night, and one scene showed high school students reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance in a public school classroom.

Do they still do that in some places? I remember reciting it early in grade school, but I don't remember when we stopped. I know for sure we didn't do it in junior or senior high.

Then again, the movie was set in Texas, so

I especially like the Fourth Amendment,

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I don't know about public schools because I wasn't about to put up with their BS, but at my son's private Catholic school (pre K - 8th), they recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the school prayer every morning. And it couldn't make me happier.
