All of them. Who wouldn't remember the best receiver of all time and one of the best quarter backs also. How could anyone talk bad about jerry rice . He had class unlike all the pre madonnas that play now days.

Oh so you only remember the '88 and '89 Super Bowl. Considering those were the only two with Montana and Rice

Rice played 85-2000
Montana 79-92
Super Bowl champs 82,85,89,90,95

Rice was drafted in 85, draft takes place after the Super Bowl.

There are multiple QBs in the NFL today that are better than Montana was. Montana wasn't even the best QB of the 80s.

That's kind of open ended. Who do you think was better?

You must be 18 years old lol!

Have you seen Payton in the post season
Brees ......if you are a fantasy guy only.
Rodgers....maybe someday.....

Brady is the only one on your list who is in the top 5 all time.....if Manning could show up when it counted maybe....

You do realize we're talking about the team sport that is football, right? It's one 53-man roster vs another.

The QB is not soley responsible for the outcome of championship games. Joe wouldn't have won 4 SB without his D and fellow offensive teammates.

The reason I put those other guys ahead of Montana is because he only had one season statistically that compared to what they did/do year after year.

Joe Montana was fragile and had a weak arm. Kerry Collins has more career passing yards than Joe.

Look at the stats. He also threw 48 TD and 5000+ yards in a season back before the rule changes that protect recievers. This was back when DBs could pretty much mug WRs.

That season was the most remarkable by any QB ever.

What year was that?

http://www.nfl.com/player/joemontana...66/careerstats

Don't see that in his official stats, he looks pretty mediocre to me. Career passer rating of 92.3. He averaged 17 td's a year with 8 int's and 2,534 yards passing.

My bad, i thought that was in reference to Montana, which statically speaking is not even a top 10 career Qb.

He doesn't make the top ten list in my book. He's an 80s version of Terry Bradshaw.

Heck Wilson already has a 3000+ passing, 25+ td and 100+ passer rating average. So far second season has a ring but you know Wilson isn't any good compared to comeback joe.

3000 yards passing is nothing, and nowadays, 25 TD is mediocre. His rating is impressive, but his wins come from the Hawks' defense.

Your right it is pretty average for passing and TD's, but then again 2 years in and has more TD's then any other second year QB. Wilson came into the league already average as QB, what does that say for when he hits 5 years into the league? If he naturally progresses like all QB's do he will end his career a top 10 Qb. Who knows maybe he will have a thumb ring too.

I hate Joe Montana.
Did then, do now.
But to say he wasn't an elite QB just proves how little you know.
Again.

So you think the Hawks win 18 out of their last 19 home games, or how about a super bowl with a hack like Matt Flynn who couldn't beat out a 3rd round draft pick? How about Tyrelle Pryor? you think they would be at the top of the power rankings right now and a 4/1 pick to win the superbowl this year? if that's what you think you might as well say they would win the super bowl with yourself at QB, after all, do they really even need a QB with that defense?

SF has had a great defense the last couple years too, shouldn't Kap be able to win them a ring with that D? Maybe his choking under pressure and throwing INT's at crucial points of games might have something to do with their lack of success, something Wilson doesn't seem to have a problem with.
Yeah, Wilson is just the product of a great D, keep telling yourself that.

Place Montana on any other team and does he have 4 rings? If the Niners had not won those 4 Superbowls would their even be a debate about who is bettered Marino or Montana? Some players luck out in the lore department and it increases their elite status.

I'm not sure who you are replying to. I'm not the only one here that thinks Montana was overrated, but I didn't say he wasn't elite.

I've got him as the second best QB of his time and just outside of my all-time top ten list.

He's got skills. That's for sure, but he also has games where he is unable to take control when his team needs him, like the second Arizona game last year where he threw for 108 yards or something like that.

How many more games like that can you dig up? how about the games where the D didn't do their job and RW brought them back, NE and Atlanta playoff game 2 years ago(RW torched the Falcons D in the second half), Houston, TB, Jax last year just to name a few.

He had ice water in his veins, a stone cold killer.
2 time NFL MVP
3 time Super Bowl MVP.

nothing overrated about that, and again, I can't stand the guy.

I like Marino, but Danny never won the big won and rarely got close.

There's no doubt that he was the best SB QB: 4-0 record 11 TD passes and zero interceptions.

However, there is a lot more to playing the position. He's behind a lot of other guys on the career passing yards and TD list.

End of the 3rd qtr and they get it going. Keep it going and you will win.

We didn't make it at 10 minutes. Can we do at 3 minutes.

I guess that would be a no even after playing all four downs.

I am with you on that one, that is why I said they have to win by more than a touchdown. I didn't take into account they were going to fall flat on their backside.

Defense got gassed and gassed early. No shame in it, now the monkey is off the back.

whatever Seattle did to prep their team for the high temps wasn't good enough. they played bad on both sides of the ball

And how do you prepare for 115 degree day. I do believe most work places shutdown when the work area is that hot.

I don't know where they came up with that temperature. San Diego had a high of 91 degrees today.

I'm sure part of City was that. But the La Mesa weather station had a high of 101 today. Add in a bowl of concrete and a few tens of thousand fans and a mid-day sun sound like a nice warm day to me.

Qualcomm is not in La Mesa. It's in Mid City, closer to the coast.
