Default Winter hogs in Central Oregon (Pic)

Love these snowstorms that keep all the fair-weather fisherman off the rivers. Being out there with no crowds and beautiful snow-covered banks is my favorite! Anyone else getting out there during these storms?

Nice big Rainbow! What did it eat? I have a friend that lives at Eagle Crest. He said Euro nymphers are catching big hatchery trout on Fall River and wild trout on the Met and Crooked. One snowy day on the Metolious, I experienced the best BWO hatch I have ever seen...

Beauty of a trout. I relate to the saying you have below. When we fished the Deschutes. the Warm Springs side always looked better.

You can fish that side, if you hire Matthew Mendez to take you there....

I stick to different color variations (black, olive, brown, red) of zebra midges #16-#20 and find success on all rivers and all seasons with these! My absolute go-to nymph! Tungsten bead head is a necessity with the smaller sizes so they get down to the bottom.
