Default Black Friday Deals

I'm in the market for more crab traps for bay crabbing and reel/rod for trolling Salmon. Are you guys seeing any deals out there yet for this type of gear? I'm new to trolling and don't have any setups yet.

BI Mart usually has crab traps under $10.00 and 30% off rods and reels and combinations. That is where I'd be looking. They have done this every BLACK Friday I can remember (at least 5 years ).
Happy shopping.

Wait till the sportsman's show in Feb. unless you find a deal you can't pass up between now and then. Figure out what you want before you shop.

Bay crabbing where you tend your traps? Or set them and go fishing? If you're going to tend them, I've got three drop ring traps that I am selling that are turn key and ready to fish. $40 per. If you want to set and fish, Fishermans has Danielson traps on a pre-BLKFri pretty cheap but you need to get rigging.

As for trolling rods, contact Metal Head on here. He's got some Shimano Tolara rods for sale that are about as good a rod you can get to troll for salmon for $60. Id but them if I can get around to arranging a proper meet up. The money you'll save on these will allow you to buy Tekota 500LC's which will be on sale for sure.

Save yourself the agony of shopping on BlkFri. Shop the iFish classifieds.

Totally. I always enjoy exchanging knowing glances with the other 40 dudes my age in the fishing aisle at Bimart at 6 am on Black Friday.... each of us pretending we're really out buying things for other people with money we didn't hide from our partners.

Everybody has the same sale prices. Seems like somebody would outdo the competition and sell stuff for less than everyone else. Every has the X11's for $59. Everyone has the Redlines for $90. Everyone has Shimano Tekotas for $147. Everyone has Okuma LoPro reels for $98. Everyone has Danielson crab pots for $10. Seems like someone out there would beat the competition by 10% and draw the customers in from the other stores.

No they didn't

Husky's right, they all have the same prices!
There's absolutely NO REASON to shop around or check on line

There are a couple things I've picked up during black Friday for WAY less than I thought was possible. Bargains are out there.....Sometimes.

I picked up three Danielsons at Bi-Mart earlier this year for $9.99. Think it was Memorial Day. Saw them while there and couldn't pass them up at that price. I'm a little surprised they aren't available Friday for that price.

Yep, just saw Bob's is having some great deals.

I've never been to a Bi-Mart. I guess I'll have to check them out. Do they all have similar selections of fishing gear?

Bimart is more like a Kmart but better. 5 bucks for a lifetime membership. They're doing an open house through tomorrow.

I just saw a singular post on facebook about the reel. Their ad will most likely come out either later tonight or tomorrow.

So being new to trolling Salmon and really to Salmon fishing period, I'm leaning towards the Tekota 500LC and X-11. So next, what line should I use and what model/size X-11? Thanks for all the advice!

I'd be sure to have some backing put on first, then 50lb or 65lb Tuf XP in your favorite color. You'll be good to go.
Best of luck.

Fishermans today advertised square Danielsons for $15, Round traps with line and float for $75, and Tekotas for $149 I believe.

It's the Tekota 300 LC. That's a really nice reel unless you need more line for some reason and would rather have the 500.

Why would anyone hesitate to spend the whole 5 dollars to be a member at Bi-Mart? Great store with good personnel and prices and pretty much a no questions asked return policy. I've returned a couple of lamis without a receipt with absolutely no hassle...

The best deal for bimart is working there for 6 months before you collect Social Security. You do that and you are locked in for employee discount for your remaining years. And let’s just say you will not find better deals than buying on their employee discount.

Bi-Mart is employee owned. That explains the excellent service.

I was a Lamiglas guy for years, but I haven't had good luck with the x-11's. They don't seem to even be the quality of their old low-end rods, the Norwest Special. I'd look at the Berkely / Buzz rods at Bi-Mart for about the same price - better quality and warranty.

Lots of dudes carrying HOT promar crab traps out of Fishermans this am. Couldn't catch a lick in the ones I bought last years Black Friday. Although Rings killed the crab. blue promar crab traps not so much. And I even sat them side by side; same exact bait!! Picked up a few vented clam guns and some new waders. Home by 6:15

This is not local, but Rakuten has a 20 percent off deal for Daiwa Lexa and Saltist line counters (and all the other stuff actually), so the final price is around $125 for those reels.

That's great price as long as you want the ocean map package. Not sure how far up the big C it is good for. The 93sv has the Lake maps (I have one) but not sure how much of the river it shows. Should be able to go to Garmin's web site and research the map differences. They are a nice unit in my opinion. The new models are out but about $1k.

I have the 73sv with lake maps and it covers the Columbia pretty well. I haven't fished above Woodland since buying it so I can't say what it covers above that. A buddy has a larger Garmin than I do and he fishes the gorge a lot and I haven't heard him say he's had any issues, I don't know what maps he's running though.

Bi-mart has a great ammo sale. $4 of all centerfire rifle & pistol ammo (Except .223/5.56). Plus a 500 rd. brick of .22 for $20. The Hillsboro store still had quite a selection at 1pm. It goes through tomorrow.

Dang, missed it! I would have ordered at least a couple. I'll be checking fish-field for cyber Monday deals for sure.
