Silver lake this week! Looking for a monster!
This is the time of year to hit Silver lake or any QUALITY lake that is known for holding Big Bass! I will be fishing Cranks, Jigs, Top water, Big plastics and finesse plastic baits.... I will also be looking for schooling bass and crappie.
Silver gives up monster bass every year 8 - 9 pounds. I have had reports from a Silver Lake guide (not an Ex Bass Guide) that has landed a 13lb bass not too long ago.
I have received reports that the lake level is very near normal. I hope to get my biggest bass in years! But you never know! My personal best fall bass is 7lbs 11oz! I will be running and gunning to hit as many spots as I can! I know what spots I will hit and in what order, unless the bass tell me to change my plans. Rocks, Pads, wood and weeds, logs, docks, canals, concrete and brush. I will catch bass in most places I stop and fish.
I will be on the lake in the dark and fish at or just before first light. I know the lake very well and have lots of quality spots! I know what the bass normally do around this water temp and fall. We are deeper into fall than I have seen before and I love the chance to hit this lake many times before the winter monsoons start up. Most of the time the lake turns over in the first 10 to 15 days of November. This fall could still last very long with a little improved weather. But the key thing is the water temps and the length of day light! I have fished this lake 3 to 4 days a week for over ten years and I love the old girl!
Wish me luck! I will let you know what Worked and my thoughts on the patterns and hopefully some nice photos! But they call it fishing not catching!
I am not taking anyone with me, this is go time!
