anyone fish davis lake this year for bass? I want to plan a trip next spring but am afraid the electroshocking ODFW did this year really killed off the fish.

I did. This year I was late for the pre spawn and only caught smaller fish. I think the big females were recuperating.

Odfw has been shocking Davis for at least three years. If done correctly it should have a very low mortality rate so bass being "killed off" really isn't an issue.

The shocking is done so they can capture and transport largemouth to other Oregon lakes. People have been talking about the need for warmwater stocking programs and may not realize Davis largemouth have been stocked in many lakes.

SnoPro knows what he is talking about. Electrofishing......usually done properly is effective at stunning fish, very rarely does it kill many fish. Davis Lake has been shocked multiple years..........and there is not even the slightest possibility if you electrofished 365 days a year you could kill all of the fish. Too much vegetation etc.
My guess is that there will always be large bass there. Just depends when you can catch the bigens.
