Default Colorado River...WOW

We spend a couple month's on the Colorado River each year in the sun hiking kayaking and fishing. this year we spent two weeks at Martinez lake in March just as the water was warming up.

Martinez is Bass heaven with amazing cover and amazing fishing. The biggest large mouth I seen was 10 pounds something and the biggest fish I seen was a 51 pound cat fish. There's all kinds of fish in the river/lake from small and large mouth bass, strippers, a couple kinds of cat fish, and some pan fish.

Here's a few pictures of small fish for a group fish fry and some pictures of the lake. I let all the big fish go

Sharp hooks

In 1989 a 66lb + striper was caught in the CO River. I've c&r some pretty nice fish over by Laughlin & Fort Mojave.

I think Alamo Lake still has some nice big crappie & bass.

This thread bring's back the youth in me.Growing up on the Colorado River in Bullhead City we would fish from Lake Mojave all the way down to the border with Mexico. Sure miss the Bass, Striper and Channel Cat fishing. If anyone want's to get into a good Crappie time down there you must try Topock Marsh.

Many Many day's of 100 plus Striper day's down there at night during the summer.

Hahaha it's so sad how many great threads on this forum turn into those. It's like really... What are you gunna do other then whine and moan on an internet forum.

That river looks beautiful... I wish we had a largemouth gem like that in Oregon

Or a stocking program :..(
