Default Houston, we have a problem

What's yer take? Coaches and all players that batted be given the Pete Rose whippen?

Dang, I liked the Astros, but the Mariners are the team I follow.

As a dodgers Fan I think the Astro's and Cora are all getting off easy.

Agree, I feel they should have to vacate the WS to the dodgers, and I’m a Sox fan.

I want Kershaw to win a series for all his hard work. It seems his post season woes were not all his own with this scandal

I read that Sabathia from the Yanks was saying they got cheated out of a title in 2017. They went 0 and 4 in Houston due to this scandal. Would they have beaten the Dodgers? Who knows. Is winning more important than integrity? Guess so. Astros are now the New England Cheatriots of the MLB.

Sincerely,

An M's fan.

The only action that will make a difference is to boycott the sport as a spectator. That's what I do.

I think Pete Rose was made an example of and don’t feel he deserved what he got. If people can win championships with PED players, then I think this scandal is just another example of cheating. They just happened to get caught.

I think fining is good, but better would be to decrease their roster size or exclude them from playoffs for x number of years. I don’t think it is sufficient to fire a couple of people (coach and gm).

How many other teams have been cheating and never got caught? Pete should be in the HOF.

The punishment is not nearly severe enough. The 2017 & 2018 WS trophies should be taken from the Astros and the Red Sox in addition to Jose Altuve's and Mookie Betts's AL MVP awards.

However, I don't expect the league will come down harshly on the Red Sox. Let's not forget that David Ortiz failed a PED test and received no punishment.

another issue I have is the players who were involved are all getting off with no punishment. The managers and GM are being help slightly responsible, but there is no accountability for the players, who had to know what they were doing was wrong.

The best way to combat sign stealing is to utilize encrypted telepathy technology between the catcher and pitcher.

I agree, I’m a huge Rose fan and I think Selig just didn’t like him. Betting is such a huge part of our culture. Guys get second chances for much worse offenses.

PED dude have rarely said sorry. Many are still in Baseball in various roles. BTW you seen Sosa lately? Insane

Thee issue with Pete Rose was he also lied about his betting. He claimed for years he never bet on baseball and then later published a tell all book admitting such in detail.

So? Any different than today? People lie all the time. Now you can’t even call them on it. You have to say “alternative facts”

Off field/On field, to me they are separate. Pete was off field.

As a lifelong dodgers fan who watched every second of both the series I am beyond ******. I wondered how our pitching staff suddenly seemed become batting practice for the Astros after the first way through the lineup..... Explains a lot. I don't want the ring. But take it away from them.

I'm not a baseball fan, but agree with you!
Not much of a punishment for him. Just a minor delay in his career path.

Not a baseball fan, but taking the ring away from the team and players would have been my ideal punishment. What they did had an obvious affect on the outcome of the games played. If I was a Dodger, I wouldn't want the ring though, just having their championship vacated.
I still can't believe the players aren't being punished too.

Not a fan of using cameras and technology to communicate to batters. With that being said, this has gone on for years. Some players from the 80's are now admitting it. There need to be clear rules about using cameras or technology during games for such purposes.

I think it is ok to steal signs or pickup tells. Part of the game to me. I coached high level youth sports for 12 years and frequently we would have the other teams signs. One coach every time he touched his belt buckle, it meant bunt. We knew the tell for one very good pitcher every time she would be throwing a rise ball. Some coaches would signal for a change-up from the dug out and we would signal the hitter accordingly. Part of the mental challenge of the game to me.

This needs to be cleaned up, just like PED's.

Agree 100%.
No cameras, electronic sign stealing.
All for it though with old school way with your plain eyes.
