I have been thinking about a trip to the Umpqua for smallmouth for a few years now. Can any one tell me a reasonably safe float section with my drift boat. Have tried to do research on line, but not a lot of info on which section of the river is the best for drift boat.

I'm interested in the same. Not great on the sticks, so looking for easy water.

Tyee to Yellow Creek

Ramps at both

No problems for pontoon, air mattress, canoe, driftboat, raft.

Look at river levels before you float the river! when it gets below 3 feet I don't go unless I know the drift. Like most drifts on the main stream of the umpqua the takes outs are always below some rapid!!
