Default Another crappie run

Couldn't pass up a day of sunshine and blue sky Tuesday so off to silver lake we went.
Caught a fish pretty much every cast. Or at least had a bite that I missed.
Two of us kept sixteen keepers. Most right at the 9 inch minimum. Two were ten-plus inchers.
A number of the bank fishermen are back to keeping everything they catch. Hope the gamies are watching.

Thanks for the report. I'm thinking about giving it a try this weekend. Good to hear some bigger fish are moving in.

Still pathetic return on your casting investment. Maybe one keeper in thirty fish.
February the ratio is a keeper for every nine fish so it is a much more productive time to fish for keepers.
Still fun to make a cast knowing your bobber is going to go under.

As much as I hate to see illegal activities happen, I think Silver Lake needs a yr or two of keeping any crappie you wish. This would in return allow more fish to reach the keeper size by taking much of the pressure off the food source.

Ok, meat fishing is what I do. How much meat is on a 4-6 inch Crappie? That said; it's a fishery management system that we all practice that will provide a constant and healthy supply.
