Default Stolen Wild Steelhead from broodstock tank

I received this in my email this morning. If anyone knows anything about please call OSP, contact information at bottom.

ATTENTION TILAMOOK STEELHEAD FISHERMEN!!!! Someone stole a wild hen out of the broodstock tank!!! Someone knows who it was because they had to have known the lock code and the process because they erased the sheet where the fish was marked in. Here's the email most of us got from Ron Rehn:

Ron Rehn
8:24 AM (27 minutes ago)

This is an unfortunate announcement that someone has taken a fish out of the broodstock pen. Around 5:45pm Tuesday evening Robert did a night check at Hughey Cr and saw that a fish was in the pen, and it had been recorded on the check-in sheet in the shed (female). Following his check everything was locked up. Wednesday morning at 7:45am I went there and noticed that the lock was missing off the shed door. The gate to the pen was locked however the fish was gone from the pen, and the name had been erased from the sheet to make it look it had never been there. It is quite obvious that whoever took the fish knew the combo and the process. There is a $100 TIP reward for information leading to a charge/arrest for a Game Fish case. If you have any info please contact OSP (info below).
Thanks, Ron

Would blame the Charles Manson family if they we still loose. First interaction with the law in California was they broke in to the Mojave trout hatchery and use fence boards to cook brood trout.

... that's about as LOW as it gets, right there.

Bad Karma will follow the perpetrator for the rest of his days.

There are a lot folks who participate in the Broodstock collection so yeah it is likely someone who is (or was) in the program at some point.

Maybe, just maybe, the thief slipped her into a cooler of water and took her back to her natal river to do her thang on the gravel (I know, not likely)! Wild steelhead don't belong in hatchery tanks.

Why bother to even try? I've seen enough Stupid,Ignorant,Idiots down here in the last two weeks to last me a lifetime. There is nothing lower than a Wildlife Thief. Except people who are where they aren't supposed to be. I saw the the State Police hunting the out of State Plates here yesterday.

Thumbs down Re: Stolen Wild Steelhead from broodstock tank

I pity the person who took the fish. They either 1.) must be really needy for food or 2.) they are such a poor fisher-person that they can't catch their own fish by legal means

NO ONE in Oregon can use "needy" as an excuse to poach/steal.

As far as lousy fisherman, I know lousy fisherman. I AM a lousy fisherman. If I'm not stealing fish they have no excuse.

Again, the AUP won't allow me to say what should happen to these thieves.

As far as transporting it to the spawning beds, I would bet they cut out the eggs and dumped the fish.

I have little faith in humanity.
