Thumbs up Re: First fawn of the year

When I was driving home last night I came across a doe with fresh twins. They wouldn't get off the road to let me past! Momma kept trying to lead them into the brush but one just kept hopping down the road! This went on for about a 1/4 mile..

They are definitely starting to drop

I haven’t seen any yet, but I’ve seen plenty of does ready to pop!

I have a doe with twins on cam from 5/23, and at least one other doe who's looking really plump. The elk cows are really fat, too.

We've got a bunch o' deer that drift between our place and the neighbors up and down river. I saw the first fawns (twins) on May 21. They've been around a lot getting underfoot when I'm mowing and stuff. I saw a doe with a single fawn today .. I think it's not one of the twins. Lot of very "plump" does around still. I'm expecting a bunch more very soon.

Saw the first set of new born twins this afternoon. Pretty nimble on the little legs so guessing pretty fresh out of the hatch.

Walked by this little fella a couple weeks ago. Didnt even realize it was sleeping there when I stopped to scan for sheds. Snapped a quick pick and kept moving before momma showed up to kick my A$$

It's happening, pair of twins down the road. First bigger one could walk but the small shadow you see in front of mom took about 5 minutes to get across the road. Smaller one was the freshie.

I don’t take my phone with me very often on my longer trail runs, but I’m glad I did last night. This was on the back side of Mount Emily. Embarrassingly enough, I almost tripped over it.

And to make matters more interesting, after I continued on I surprised a small cinnamon colored blackbear around the corner maybe 1/2 mile away that was ambling in the direction I had just come from.

Maybe I did that fawn a favor yesterday.
