Default Lake Billy Chinook 2020

Made the first run down to LBC to try and get on some winter kokes and enjoy the sun!! Got down to the lake around 830 and trolled till 130 put 18 in the box we trolled two koke rods and two bull trout rods. Nada on the trout rods.
We did hit a couple huge schools and jigged a couple but they are deep 130' seemed to have the bulk of the fish good news is we had one almost 12" biggest i have seen in there in a long time. Absolutly beautiful day out there we probably could have got 4 limits if we would have stacked 4 koke rods.
Ramps and docks are good to go

2-10 Beautiful day on the water. Two limits and off the water by 1:30. Wow biggest Billly kokes I've ever seen this time of the year. Average over 10" Down rigger rods set usually about 100 ft. Big schools ranged from 70 to 120' or so. Water absolutely flat. Gold and silver dodgers and any color hoochies and spinners worked.

You guys are absolutely killing me. I might have to try to make a trip if roads allow before our traditional May weekend.

Kenamatic,do you ever haul your boat over there in the winter? For some reason I have a fear of pulling my boat through all the de-icer that’s dumped on the highway. I have heard it’s not nice to aluminum.

Good to hear the kokes have a bit more size this year than the past few years. Nice report and a thanks to ReadyPro1 as well. See you on the lake one day soon.

No I haven't and that is a big concern. It would have to be a date where I can wash it like I just took it out of the salt water (which I don't do anymore). Likely will wait a couple weeks and try for a drier time, but not sure I will be able to put it off to long as I am craving kokanee tacos and am out of fish in the freezer

I too am itching to go hit LBC. My buddy just got a new boat, and we are planning a trip over there to see what we can stir up. We ain't going for the kokanee, though. We want the bullies.

In just a couple of weeks the Metolius arm opens (March 1). I'm ready.

Used to camp over there at Perry south, many moons ago.
Had a 15' Old Town cedar canoe, with a 3 1/2 horse Minn Kota?
Didn't do much fishing there, but remember friends from school walking through camp with
buckets full of Kokes, and a few Bulls.
We just enjoyed puttin' around enjoying the scenery.
The yeller jackets in camp were always horrendous.

Spud, I too, am ready. I hope the dolly's are also ready to dance. I went a couple years ago and got a 31 inch slab. We are going to do a run after the opener in a couple of weeks.
