Question Adjustable leader length for kokanee system?

Does anyone have a good system for easily adjusting your leader lengths? I've been tying them directly to the dodger, but it is hard to make them longer after I've done that If nothing else, I think I am going to start using a surgeons loop so I can at least reuse them easier. I saw some ideas using bobber stops, but it looked like it would mess up the action of the dodger.

I just tie up two sets of leaders one set 12” and one set 8” then put my flies together with similar patterns/color in both lengths.

Do you use loops or swivels on your leaders?

I use the Spro 50lb swivels as they're super light and small (I wouldn't use big ones). I've personally never worried about making the leaders an adjustable length. Retying the hooks is super quick anyways. I can tie an egg loop in under thirty seconds.

Perfection knot on them but I run a small chain swivel off the back of the dodger with a duo snap and clip that I put the perfection loop into.

I tye a swivel on each Kokanee rig and Target a leader length of 8-12”. I run longer leaders on the Brads cut plugs - maybe 16-18”. I’m lazy and the swivels are pretty cheap.

Not that I know what I’m doing.

All of my leaders have loops tied on the ends. All of my attractors dodgers, ford fenders etc have a Duo snap on the end, for quick changes.

Difference between a spro and 'regular' sized swivel.

I got lazy and cheap and just did surgeon loops on my leaders and have no issues. IF I break a leader its at the hooks, usually due to a nick. I tie on 10 or 12 lb ultragreen. Even if the knot is only 50% efficient, still way more holding capacity than is needed to horse in a koke

I ties swivels on all of mine. Quick snap to the dodger.

I virtually tie all my own kokanee gear, be it hootchies, or spinner/blade types. Most I tie are colored flies with a trailer hook. I tie these with braid, front hook to back. Then I tie on a mono leader, one is independent of the other. If I want 8" 8 lb, or 10" 15 lb, or 20" 10 lb or any combination. If I catch several large fish on a leader, I can easily tie another of the same length, no problem, fresh leader, no nicks......

Nice work! I’d bite that. Creative bead work between the hooks.

I just got my order of streamer style hooks and some bait holder hooks that I will bend over the shank barbs. So I can tie some more with longer bodies.
