Re: Brownlee Report
I have seen that cricket hatch. Big cats slurping on the surface. Quite a sight. I fished Brownlee strictly for crappies on Wed And Thurs. I eliminated many of my favorite spots on Wed. Powder River arm was dead. Water was surprisingly clean and temp was 69. No bobber bite. Fish will move in soon. Only way for me to get them was to locate school and stay on top of them. Best was 1/64 oz. jig heads(2) with 1 inch Gulp minnows. This Reservoir was nearly vacant at 8:00 pm and with wind down and storm moving in, crappies were biting. Managed about 30 with only two about 8 inches and the rest solid 12. They wanted it right in their faces. Casting and trolling not good for me. Big bluegills have not moved to their beds yet so everything a little late this year. Night fishermen had good success.
