This is our second full day of our annual Brownlee Crappie trip. Yesterday day ran the boat all over the reservoir. From Powder river arm up to spring campground. Best fishing was a pull out right where the pavement ends. Averaged about 3 fish an hour. Caught some dandy smallmouth there too. Also got a 8 lb channel cat there, all on a black and green Crappie jig. Most Crappie bit at about 8 foot depth.
Looking for faster Crappie action, we headed down to Owyhee this morning. .Fishing from the shore, managed to average 4 fish per 5 casts. Only 1 of 5 was big enough to keep, and just barely.
Tomorrow I think I'll anchor the boat and try for more catfish. Weather might make that challenging.
