This trap consistently performs worse than my $15 Danielson traps. What am I missing?
The Danielsons is a great pot as long as they don't get sucked away by the current due to being light. As for side tying. I don't think it matters if it lands on the top or bottom since the crab come in from the sides. Half of my traps are set up with a single side tie and they work fine and pull much easier and the access door on top is easier to access as well.
