Default Where to find late grouse...

Hey, I am used to hunting grouse early in the year, with pretty decent success sticking to water, berry, and gravel sources. However, what would you suggest later in the season (now) when berries are not as plentiful and snow may be covering the gravel, like tomorrow? Any help would be great, if grouse isn't looking good we might search for deer instead. Thanks. TOC.

I have been searching all my early season areas and the grouse have pretty much disappeared. I did pick up a couple last week but very few flushes compared to the early season. You might want to consider tightening up the choke tube a little too or changing shot size. Most of the birds are flushing wide.

Thanks for the tip Bait Bucket- you were one of the folks I was hoping would reply. I haven't messed with chokes, as I shoot an old model 12 16 ga, and am not overally familiar with shotgunning, so I just shoot it as is, might be why I miss. Soon I might by a shotgun that is a little better fit for me that can shoot steel. Thanks, I'll report tonight.
