Re: Winter Steelhead Challange Entry
I have a couple of partial days of "skunk" in. I expect many more to come.
Not that I'm in the challenge.

Re: Winter Steelhead Challange Entry
You can always count on PTS and AndyK to be catching fish. I suppose they're just kind enough to not rub it in every day .
I myself have a couple more trips planned for this break and hopefully I can get the skunk off.

Re: Winter Steelhead Challange Entry
I've hooked two winters on a fly. Neither landed.
One took me about 60+ yds into my backing and down and through the tail out. What a blast.....
The other jumped two or three times and came unhooked. Guess I'll have to start using steel hooks instead of the rubber ones Stew gave me.
Water is low and clear and fish do not seem to be up in numbers yet.

Re: Winter Steelhead Challange Entry
Based on what I'm seeing we should just hand Andy K the trophy now.
I gotta get out on the water.
After the Holidays, for sure...

Since PTS has caught more and larger fish (so far), he is the one to beat!
If we get the forecast rain, next week should be really hot !

Re: Winter Steelhead Challenge Entry
I have hooked three steelies this month. One was a winter that jumped several times that I SDR (Short distance released) at me feet. Another I never saw and the third turned out to be a summer fish. Nice fish but on the dark side. I will be out the next few days though.
