Default Tree Stands What Kind?

I have never really used a tree stand, but I have one that a buddy gave me. I would like to get a new one and am looking for suggestions from you guys. Do the climber models work well? I don't know anything about them so please give me some ideas.

Thanks
Rick

Hehe, ya wanta see something neat?

Look at a search engine for "Tree Lounge", then go to their website. I'm not sure if they still do this, but they used to send you free videos of their excellent product!

If you like seeing some nice hunting shots, this video's for you! I believe their product, while pretty pricey, IS a great product!

I have a friend, who's originally from the south. A buddy of his back there has one and he says it's definitely the "Cat's meow"!

I know that from watching the video, you can set it up as an archery stand, rifle stand with rest and or gun rack, and put on a build-on blind with umbrella if you want.

Besides that one, there are many others by lots of makers...but that Tree Lounge looks like a real Cadillac!

Climbers are great but they have limitations around this area anyway. Alot of our trees have limbs all the way down (fir, maple, oak ect..) not allowing a climber to get up easy (the first time anyway) I have both and I think I guy should probably start out with a fixed stand first. If you get into it though -you'll end up having more than a couple

I DO however prefer hunting out of a climber--I am kind of a sissy about heights

Have heard good things about the Tree Lounge and Ol' Man tree stands.

I've got one of the Ol' man climbers. It's the only one I have tried. I took a buck using it this year. Seems sturdy and have no complaints so far. If I was to get a new one it would probably be one of the Tree Lounges.

Looks like from their website they still send out the free video. I got it several years ago. Good video. Also once they have your name they send out flyers of the sales they have.

Remember that a climber doesn't have to be used as a climber. You may hand climb up, rope up the stand, affix the stand as you would a non climbing stand. Pretty versatile, we do it frequently. It's also handy to have a tree monkey like Fishalot around to help!
