Default Daughters first Kill

If you have read any of my previous posts, I am in the military, from the NW stationed down in San Antonio, TX. My daughter has started hunting with me this year and we started out with dove back in September and then deer in November. Last Saturday we were out trying for deer/hog when 10 minutes before legal shooting hours was over, I see a buck working his way towards us. I quietly tell her I see the deer headed our way but she doesn't see anything. I try to tell her by using the old hours of a clock and here comes a deer from 3 o'clock... she still doesn't see it. Finally he is about 45 yards from us and she sees the darn thing. Now where we hunt it is shotgun only and she has no scope so it is pretty amazing that she slowly raises the shotgun takes aim and nails this thing right in the kill zone. I am not sure who is more excited at this point because my heart is going a mile a minute. I am worried she might freak out now that we have a dead deer we need to drag back to the road but the whole time she acts like she had done it 100 times before. Although it is a little forked horn it is a trophy buck to her and me. I couldn't be prouder of her. We are going out again next weekend to see if we can get her a hog. I have a stand I have been feeding that they are tearing up. I have some trailcam pictures if anyone is even interested. Anyways, here she is with her first big kill!!

That is so cool that you were able to pass down the thrill of the hunt to the next generation. Congratulations to both of you. May there be many more happy memories to come!
