Default Question on Boot Dryers/Warmers

I know that I can always (most always) get good advice from fellow Ifishers. I'm Thinking of getting a boot dryer for a Xmas present. Are there better types than others? Where is a place to find some. I've seen the type that looks like two feet sticking up that you turn the boots upside down on. Are there other types? Whats the price range? Any bad ones that I should avoid? Thanks in advance.

Andy.

The wife got me the Peet boot dryer two years ago for X-Mas. I wear bargin brand 8" leather boots to work doing landscape maintenance, and they get wet a bunch from wet grass and perspiration. I've got so I use the boot dryer almost all the time after working, it's been doing a great job. They don't use much juice, and don't get your boot really hot, just warm. I just put the boots on 'em in the evening and shut it of in the morning.

I didn't think I'd use one that much, but I sure do.
Get one, you'll love it!

Not fishing related, but SMJ? I have a girlfriend that has terribly cold feet a lot of times. Would this be a good gift for her? Would it fit womens shoes, or only boots?

They are a one size fits all but they don't heat up the shoe/boot.

I have had the same PEET boot dryer for last 10 or so years and it is worth its weight in gold for drying boots/shoes. No moving parts to wear out and it does warm your footwear up to a comfortable temp which is really nice when the boots live in an unheated garage. No more starting off with cold boots on a cold morning!

Get the Peet dryer.

Use wax based leather conditioner/sealer at twice the recommended frequency and your boots will last a long long time with a dryer.

Another vote for Peets Had one for 10 years and love it. Don't know how I got along without one for so long. The only way to dry boots out

Other than the over priced sports and auto stores in town has anyone seen them around?

Jennie...The Peet dryer takes awhile to warm your shoes, maybe 1/2 hour to an hour, but if you got cold feet in the morning it will do the trick. That's if the shoes are dry, if they're wet it's going to take alot longer.

Andy...The peet was $29.00 when I got mine, I think that's worth it if it's going to last 10yrs+. That's just the basic dryer without the extensions for hip waders.

Try farm supply stores.

And now the Peet dryer has a one peice bottom that doesn't break. Every one of the 2 peice bottoms I have ever seen that had been used more than once was broke, just like mine.
