Your biggest deer
Whats the biggest deer you've taken? Mine is a Blacktail buck, that I consider a 4x3. The gamie at the check station called it a 5x4 because of the eyeguards. I'll post some pics later. Anybody else have some pics?

Re: Your biggest deer
After about a very long huting career (nearly 20 years), I managed to bag this 5x5 Blacktail in the trask. Not quite as impressive as some I've seen on ifish, but nonetheless, it's a trophy to me. I had it scored at the Sportsman's show last year - He went 109 - missed book by one stinkin' point. :depressed: He measured 18.5" accross the outside. Nicest one I've ever seen in the coast range, let alone shot.

Re: Your biggest deer
Heres the pic I took. Blacktail
I have no idea what he would score,I've thought about having him scored at the sportsmans show, but don't feel like lugging the mount around. Any idea as to where he might score?

Re: Your biggest deer
I checked out the B&C site, and then went out to find a tape measure. I had to go to 4 stores before I found a little keychain tape. You all must be getting one in your stocking, cause they're about impossible to find.

Re: Your biggest deer
If my wife knew what a sewing kit was I might have tried that.
I just finished the measure and came up with 122" even with 3 1/8" in deductions for a final score of 118 7/8". I'm going to take it to the show this year, now I gotta get the official score.

Re: Your biggest deer
Blacktail, 3X5, 24" spread. Scores somewhere in the 130 range due to deductions for not having the extra points.
Also got a 3 point blacktail bowhunting that scored around 120. Too lazy to send it in, been over 20 years on that one. Both killed in Jackson county, the big one on the east side and the 3 point on the west.

Re: Your biggest deer
I got two almost identical 3x4 with eyeguards blacktail bucks. Both about 18.5 wide by 15 tall. Consecutive seasons within a hundred yards of the same spot.

Re: Your biggest deer
I haven't got my biggest yet...
Buuut, so far a 29.5" 4X4 mulie (wide not high) and a 4x4 mulie with a 26" spread and 24" height. These two probably would score about the same but never scored them.
Both from Oregon.

Re: Your biggest deer
My largest rifle killed buck is a 4x4 Blacktail that scores 141 2/8.
I also have a 4x5 Blacktail I killed with a longbow that scores 136.
Both bucks were taken in Clackamas County. I've never hunted mule deer.

Re: Your biggest deer
Mule deer. This buck only had an inside spread of 18inches and still scored 185. If he had been a 30 inch buck he would make the book easy.
He was scored as a 6x8 with all kinds of deductions. my best . id. painter

Re: Your biggest deer
Nothing big for me, but my uncle in law has five blacktails mounted that range from 128 to 138. Over the xmas break I will try and get a pic of his mounts. BTW- they all came from the same general area.

Re: Your biggest deer
Buckgtr,
The whitetail is from Mississippi. I took it on my buddies hunt club near Winona. It just missed B&C but was largest typical killed in state for 2002/2003 season that we are aware of.

Re: Your biggest deer
ER,
Nice bucks! Texas whitetail? Love that droptine on buck # 4. I have harvested a few big blacktails with some small trash but nothing like that droptine. Saw a blacktail on the last weekend of bow season this year that was a typical 4 pt. with a small kicker on his right side and on the left side had trash everywhere. I counted at least least 6 points coming off his left main beam in every direction. Had easily a 19-20 inch inside spread, dark antlers and mass throughout, (ALSEA UNIT). I nicknamed him "FREAK" . He is what defines a dream Blacktail buck for me.
I will post a few recent harvest pics soon, I'm still trying to figure out how to do it.

Re: Your biggest deer
A perfectly symetrical 4x4 whitetail in Camp Lejeune, NorthCarolina. Shot him from my treestand as he was making a scrape. It was the base record for that year.

Re: Your biggest deer
Ten, twelve years ago I took what is probably Oregon's smallest mulie four point that T'ed 15"x 11". He was running with a doe that was larger than he was; it could've been his momma. Hey, it was the last day of the season; an unfilled tag makes a mighty thin stew. I use his rack to cradle my slingshot.
