Sturgeon will show up on your depthfinder the same as any other fish will . If you can find steelhead and you know what they look like on your depthfinder the sturgeon will look the same only larger . Look on the very bottom of your depthfinder and it looks like a tree stuck in the mud it is probably a sturgeon that is rooting up fresh water clams . You just need to practice and believe what you are seeing are fish . Good luck and practice.

Yes, sturgeon will show up on your finder but the best method to use your finder is to find the slots, shelves, flats, trenches, so forth that has a nice soft bottom. Half a smelt on a 4/0 is the best fish finder I have ever seen. It doesn't take that long at all

I would agree. I have caught many, deep or shallow water and know that as they are played, brought up from under the boat, the ff would go crazy marking the thing as it swam under the boat.

they sure do. I was out sunday with other ifishers and just motored around the lower willie watching the drops and hols and found thick schools of fish. They showed up plain as day. I was skeptical that they were all sturgeon, but after boating about 60 of the buggers, those arches surely were. Alot of fishfinders have the
fish I.D. option, I had mine turned off (have'nt figured out how to use the nef FF yet) I think it's more accurate, but you do have to get a little experience in reading rfish from other entities.
