Default Hawaii Jan

I will be in HI this coming Jan for a week. Just curious what to fish for and any tips on finding a charter.

I hope to get out one day, and the rest will be apparently spear fishing with rocks to weigh me down at night. Well my friend there thinks that's what he's going to get me into.

thanks

Ive done hawaii for christmas in the last 4 years, and havent had much luck fishin offshore.A couple of juvie Big eye tuna was the most exciting.

Spearfishing should be fun, especialy since you got a local to take you out.

December is traditionally Ahi season in Hawaii. everything else is pretty slow.
Here are a couple of interesting sites. Capt. Kim Miyaki is an Oregon State grad who loves to have Oregonians on board.

If you are going to fish on Maui, I recommend the Iwa Lele out of Lahina harbor. You can book through this web page...
http://www.fishmaui.com/

I fished with these guys last April and will do so again this April. These guys leave the earliest, run the farthest, and catch the most fish. I love fishing in shorts ahd a tee shirt at 6am!

Enjoy

those guys in lahaina will also tell you anything tou want to hear. best method . 1. fish mexico instead.
second best method . 2. wait at the dock the previous day when they come in and question their customers from that trip.
